Thursday May 13, 2021
Thursday May 13, 2021
Have you ever felt like your life was falling apart beneath your feet?
If yes, you’re not alone, and to be fairly honest, it’s probably an experience that each of us goes through at some point in life.
Louise Johnson was exactly in this place seven years ago after going through a traumatic divorce. Even though she spent most of her life in Edinburgh, Scotland, she decided to move to Vancouver, Canada soon after her divorce and start her life over.
Fast forward till today, Louise has called Vancouver, Canada her home since 2013. While she focused on furthering her career in Sales & Marketing, Louise wrote her first memoir in 2019, Lou Who, following a transformative six-year period.
In this episode we dive into:
- Louise’s experience of healing from a traumatic experience
- how she regained her strength & discovered a new version of herself, what inspired her to write her first book, the myths of perfection, and the fact that there’s no perfect ending
- the gift of giving yourself grace, sitting with emotions, and giving yourself the permission to feel
There’s so much more we dive into with Lou. This is a very genuine, warm, and friendly conversation that I deeply enjoyed.

Thursday Apr 15, 2021
“The deepest relationship you’ll ever have is the one with your body.”
- Dr. Liana Rodriguez
From the cradle to grave, your body is with you and it listens at every step of the way. It knows your true story, what you desire & fear, what you went through in life, and keeps track of all injuries big or small (physical, mental, emotional). Will you listen to the subtle clues your body gives you to prevent or stop illness early on or will you wait for the big awakening later on?
Today, I sit down with Dr. Liana Rodriguez, entrepreneur, functional medicine physician & Air Force Veteran and together we unpack how you can foster a positive relationship with your body and support the healing process even if all of your past attempts have failed.
Dr. Liana Rodriguez, is the founder of Rejuvenist Health, the premier resource for working professional women to shed hard to lose weight & transform their health.
In this episode we dive into:
- Liana’s path of healing & how she went from an overworked doctor struggling with her own health to a successful health coach & entrepreneur helping others with the same issues she struggled with herself
- We discuss how you can better understand the language your body speaks - how to pay attention to the subtle clues your body speaks and discern what they mean
- The importance of the right evening routine so you get to wake up like a boss
- We discuss how you can leverage detox for weight loss, what it means to detox outside of the social media craze, and how you can help our body heal when all your past attempts have failed.
Dr. Liana has been helping women who are chronic yo-yo dieters to lose weight utilizing a Root-Cause Approach & metabolic detox without pharmaceuticals, giving up coffee, or spending endless hours in the gym, while also helping them to re-frame their mindset & sustainably keep it off.
Early in her career while working in a molecular biology & genetics lab she decided to switch gears and attend Osteopathic Medical School. After almost a decade of practicing conventional Internal Medicine, and forced on a path to healing her own body she started additional training in Functional Medicine which then led her to start her own practice, and opened up the world of Entrepreneurship, Personal Development, and Coaching - which is where she is today.

Breaking Into Tech & Data Science with Emily Quigley
Tuesday Mar 30, 2021
Tuesday Mar 30, 2021
If one of your goals for 2021 is to change careers, change jobs, or find a more fulfilling way to grow, then this episode is for you.
According to Gallup's research, only ⅓ of workers in the US are actively engaged. If you find yourself in the other half or perhaps even in a toxic environment or stuck in a job you don't like, then you're probably wondering how you can make a powerful shift in your career...
Emily Quigley was exactly in this situation a little over 3 years ago when she worked as a marketing analyst in Kansas City. Being tired of feeling lost, missing the challenge of growing, she started seeking new possibilities for herself. Through the help of her friend, she learned about data science, quit her job, and moved to Denver to complete a 3-month data science bootcamp. Fast forward till today, Emily has been a data scientist at a multi-billion dollar San Francisco-based company for over 2 years and develops projects using optimization algorithms, machine learning, and statistics.
In this episode, Emily demystifies working in tech and makes it more approachable especially for those who don’t have a traditional background.
In detail, we talk about:
- Emily's path of breaking into tech, how she went from being lost and frustrated in her career to finding a new path for herself and making it a reality
- what data science is and how you can get into data science even if you don’t hold a computer science degree
- the steps you need to take to identify the right role for yourself, and the principles you can apply to reach career fulfillment
- misconceptions of job-hopping, how to ace job interviews and so much more.

"Every important decision about you is made in the room you're not in." - Sue Bunnell, quoting her powerhouse mentors.
How do we bring women to more rooms where decisions are made? What are the type of leaders we need for the time we live in? How can you become one? How can you foster an environment of inclusion, understanding, and support in times of ambiguity?
These are just some of the questions we dive into with Sue Bunnell, my guest for today's episode.
Sue Bunnell is an SVP at Wells Fargo, where she has served for 20 years in a variety of legal roles. She currently leads a team that handles info security, technology, renewable energy, physical security, property management, construction, and a wide-ranging vendor transactional practice across the more than 6000 retail and administrative locations in 33 countries worldwide.
She’s has been a guiding voice on Wells Fargo’s COVID-19 and pandemic response activities to keep essential workers and customers safe in Wells Fargo’s facilities.
Sue is also the President and co-Chair of LWT, a women’s professional development and advancement non-profit that started here in the Bay Area, and now has year-long programs in San Francisco, Palo Alto, New York, and Seattle. She joined the Board of the Professional Business Women of California last year and is delighted to serve on the committee that puts on the annual Young Women’s Professional Summit event for up-and-coming women in all industries.
In this episode, Sue and I talk about:
- Her definition of leadership
- What type of leaders we need at this time
- Sue unpacks the key qualities and skills that make a good leader and how you can rise up to become one
- How to foster leadership skills among women and what each of us can do to become a better leader (LWT Program)
- How to approach conversations about promotion, or career change with empathy and curiosity, and the right questions you should be asking to understand the full context of why you didn’t get the promotion
What I appreciated most about this conversation, was the insider’s scoop on how promotion decisions are made and how not to take unmet promotion desires personally or with disappointment which is why you need to understand the broader business context.
This conversation is loaded with a lot of wisdom and practical tips so listen carefully and take notes :)

What is the true value of a $1?
Millions of people in the world live under a $1-2/day and many of us in the Western world can't imagine what that really means, yet, there are thousands of people living on the minimum wage within our own neighborhoods.

Stephanie opens up about her struggles in her personal life, how she dealt with depression, and how she found her new equilibrium and inner compass again.
This is a very genuine conversation and I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Thursday Jan 21, 2021
Have you ever found yourself day-dreaming and wondering what it would be like to be the CEO of a multi-million dollar company?
If yes, you're not alone. So many times I envisioned myself walking on the streets of NYC with so much confidence and glamour like Anne Hathaway in the movie "Devil wears Prada". The truth is there's a lot more to success than fashion and glamour. Success isn't straightforward nor guaranteed but that's where it gets interesting.
If you're serious about your career and professional achievements, I invite you to join me for a conversation with Jullie Olsten, Chief Executive Director of Aero & Marine Tax Professionals.
Jullie started at the company as a receptionist and today is the CEO of a thriving & growing business. Her company enjoys a 100% success rate when filing tax returns for their customers!
How did she do it? This is what we discuss in this episode. If you want to know how to deliver value to your customers, grow your business and empower your team, then your time with us will be well-spent. Outside of business, we talk about her mindset and formula for success, building confidence, and how she hits her goals every single time!
If you know of someone who has serious career ambitions (outside of you), please share this episode with them.

Have you ever struggled so badly with your body image & self-worth that you stopped showing up for day-to-day events, parties, or special occasions?
If yes, you're not alone. I've struggled greatly with body image, body dysmorphia, eating disorders for many many years and there was a time in my life when I stopped showing up and withdrew from the world and from my loved ones. If this is something you're going through right now, do not despair! There's a way out.
In this episode, I'm speaking with my friend Ivonne Delaflor who's interviewed me on her podcast Sovereign Futures about my experience of rising through challenges, healing from the wounds of perfectionism, low self-esteem, anorexic mindset, depression and so much more.
Ivonne is an internationally acclaimed author, spiritual teacher, entrepreneur, and coach to thousands of people around the world.
Ivonne appeared on the Fearless Warrior Podcast a few weeks prior so If you haven’t heard my conversation with her, hurry up and check out episode # 16 where Ivonne and I talk in-depth about the power of meditation, spirituality and what it has done for her life.
This is a bilingual episode which is a fun new format to make this podcast more accessible to the Spanish-speaking community. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did:) Please do reach out and let me know your thoughts.
